Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?
@Former-Member, as a muso, I can guarantee that holding a warm cuppa is good for getting the fingers functional on a cold morning. ๐
I used to go to a school holidays music camp when I was a kid. It was frost on the ground some mornings, and we'd spend the first 10-15 minutes of our first rehearsal session doing hand warmup exercises. Lots of clapping, stretching and shaking. I still use those on cold mornings, or if my fingers get sore while playing. ๐

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?
Yay Big mugs is the way @Determined How they struggled with saucers in ye olde days.
@Smc I would have loved to go to music camp as a kid. I dont think anyone knew they existed in my family. Piano can be isolating, so I am getting them in as a grown up!
@Former-Member Thx for that pic ... gorgeous

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?
@Appleblossom, I wasn't good at mixing with other kids, so Music Camp wasn't all roses, but there were a few I got along well with, and an intensive week full of music was always pretty amazing. By the end of the week, we had two different performances under our belts- an ensembles concert, and a second full orchestral concert. One year we even had a tutor who played concert harp. That was amazing. Sad to report that piano didn't get much of a look in, apart from accompanying other musicians. They're not exactly a portable instrument, and most possible camp venues might have one at most available.
(Bikkies anyone?)

Those are amazing bikkies @Smc! That's a shame about the lack of piano at music camp, did they have you play the keyboard instead?

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?
@Ali11 It was a small glass cold milk as I didnโt feel I could stomach warm the other night. It stlll seemed to do the trick.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?
Sometimes cold milk certainly does the trick @Beautifulday! No need for a hot drink, cold drinks are welcome here too!

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?
@Ali11, it's @Appleblossom who's the pianist. I play violin and viola (thus my choice of bikkies....), which are somewhat more portable. ๐ And this was back 35-40-ish years ago, so electric keyboards were also a bit unlikely.

Hey @Beautifulday, are you a musician too? (Wondering about your profile pic. ๐ )
