Hey there fellow forumites! 👋

As we wrap up 2024 with our contemplation caps on, we invite you all to reflect on your most meaningful moments from the past decade. Why the past decade? Because SANE Forums is celebrating its 10-year anniversary! A decade of sharing stories, making connections, and learning and growing together.🫂

Whether you joined the community 10 years ago or just this morning, we want to hear from you! Sharing our experiences is one of our favourite forums staples after all.

As part of our way of showing thanks to the community, we wanna shower you with gifts! All members who contribute to this 10-year Anniversary discussion thread will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a $50 gift card - there’s a total of 10 gift vouchers up for grabs!

If you’re a stuck on what to talk about, we’ve got some lil prompts here for guidance:

  • What experiences have brought you strength over the past 10 years?
  • What lessons have you learnt over the past 10 years that have had a positive impact in your life?
  • Share a piece of advice or support you’ve received, or perhaps a post you have read on the Forums that has stayed with you?
  • Share your reflections on what was happening in your life 10 years ago, or some reflections on where you were at when you first joined the forums - or both!

Can’t wait to hear from you all!

Re: Come celebrate the 10-year anniversary of SANE Forums!

Hello @rav3n 😊

Congratulations Sane forum for turning 10 years old 👏 @RachSANECEO , @espressologic

10 years ago , was married,  had 4 step children to care for

We were self employed with a cleaning and Mowing service

I was my mum's carer , looking after 2 houses and that is when i developed kidney disease and found out i only was born with  one kidney

2015 was a big year where my husband had a big breakdown

While he was in hospital,  I found Sane forum 😊

I first  came on the forum in 2015 and I have been here since

Members here have helped me through all  these years to " keep on keeping on "

" you are not alone "

I love our community,  it is supportive, encouraging,  caring , understanding and always here for each other

As a community guide for the last 9 years has been wonderful

And also as the Birthday girl love to say happy birthday to everyone who wants to be on the birthday list 😍

Love being called mammabear,  Shazzy and Sister

Keep up the great work everyone in forumland ❤️

Re: Come celebrate the 10-year anniversary of SANE Forums!

I first came to sane 2016 I think . I wasnt  in a good place and saw ad on tv.

Sane forums has helped me in different ways, company, not being the only one who thinks like I do, or at least talking with people who 'get it'

I had routines over the years, would talk to certain people at certain times of day when they had time.

I cant think of anything in particular, but I have taken screen shots of some of the advice I have been given.

I was confronted by someone the other day about not having put in cat doors (just thought about it for 6 mths)  so now they are on their way in the mail and I feel confident I will install them talking to people on Sane gives me hope for the future, puts things in perspective and exposes me to other peoples experiences.

Re: Come celebrate the 10-year anniversary of SANE Forums!

I've been with SANE for a few years now. When I first joined I was extremely socially isolated after a failed relationship, many deaths and experiencing a lot of social vilification.

SANE provided a safe landing space to reconnect with my community. On here I met so many wonderful people and its been nice to know I am not alone and there are non-judgemental people who are supportive and really care.

I missed that element of my life when I was surrounded by friends from psychosocial rehab, the fun we had and the cameraderie. With the cuts to MH funding these psychosocial rehabs were closed and I found myself alone in a semi regional town with very few options to socialise and get out to meet people.

My situation had been very difficult for years living with the fallout from my predicament. Having SANE has been a great way for me to mingle with people online in my community. SANE is a service that brings together people especially when the rest of the system falls short with all the financial cutbacks to MH care.

SANE has made a world of a difference to my life. I've met many beautiful people on the forums who have supported me, made me laugh or have changed my outlook on life in a beneficial way!

@rav3n thank you for the tag!

10 years! Wow! Congratulations to Sane, all the wonderful people behind the scenes and to the whole forum community.

I joined SANE forums in 2023 after experiencing a traumatic event in 2022 that changed my life, my husband's life and our ties with extended family.

10 years ago I was getting ready to welcome my first child after heartbreaking loss and IVF. Never, did I think I would join a forum10 years from them to help me get through life.

This forum and its community has helped me understand my husband's cptsd and my own mental health.

It has given me hope for the future and helps me put things into perspective by exposing me to other peoples experiences.

I am so grateful to my friends here 🙏🏻. I wish I could reach out and give you all a real hug.

I hope SANE can be supporting everyone who needs support and care for many years to come! 🥰
