@rav3n I'm actually looking forward to start studying it!! From what I know, the undergraduate certificates are basically like TAFE courses similarly in the sense where they allow you to build some skills that will then later on help you achieve those skills. Undergraduate certificates are normally 6-months and once you've completed it, you can then undertake a bachelor's degree (I'm pretty sure it's guaranteed) as further study. The subjects in this course are basically: drawing, introduction to history of art and design, fine art studio materials, and fine art studio methods. So just 4 subjects in this course! 🙂 I'm also undertaking a design subject alongside with this undergraduate certificate degree too, as I was thinking of wanting to explore designing as well and want to try it.
You can also read more about it on this post via the link attached below (it mentions the reason why I chose to make a sudden change to it) that I've mentioned to Gremlin24 and others about 🙂

Aye @Blackcloud I will echo what @rav3n said!! I definitely didn't mean to diminish or overlook the unique challenges you face - and like, yeah, society can be really callous towards those who might struggle to connect, treating us as though our challenges are some personal failing, and not a reason that hey, maybe we deserve more compassion not less!! And like, I imagine that the pressure from your mum would also be getting in the way - like, if you try to force a friendship, most times it's just gonna fizzle out super quick. That's so rough hun.
I think one of the things in my own journey I found surprising was that when my people did find me, I didn't have to do anything to change to fit in with them. They already liked me as I was. I wouldn't have been able to be receptive to that without having some part of me believe it to be possible. Maybe you can make space for a part of you to hold onto that hope too 😌
There are people out there who would meet you, hear that you have struggles with your speech, and say 'Ahh, now I can practice my patience, and be a good friend by waiting and not rushing them' rather than 'oh, this is too hard, nope'. It's hard if you've just gotten soooo much rejection over the years, our brains are mostly convinced by experiences not words. But I hope that you find your people some day soon!! No, I know you'll find your people!! I have much faith 😊💜

@Jynx the last part hits hard, yeah I've always longed for someone who can accept and respect me the way I am despite my struggles with speech and all, and I do really hope I would be able to find that someone who understands all of that about me and doesn't invalidate nor mock me for it, like a friend of mine unfortunately used to do to me in the past when we were in high school.
I totally agree, if you try to force a friendship a lot of the times it'll fizzle out super quick, and you and your 'partner' that you force yourself to be in a relationship with were never in a real relationship to begin with.

@avant-garde aww cute!! I haven't had an actual pillow fight in many years, your inner child may just have inspired me! Must....bonk... loved ones....with soft things.... 🤣
I'm sorry to hear that people have been all poopy to you. I shake my fist at your struggles!! Rawr!!
@Blackcloud ach, I'm sorry that happened to you hun, kids can be soooo cruel - and if we don't understand that it's not actually okay behaviour, we can end up sorta thinking 'oh okay I guess I'm just too sensitive I should be finding this funny too, right?' but it's not funny, it just hurts.
A good measure, I've found - the forums!! If people aren't treating you with the same kind of compassion and acceptance that this community has, they're probably not the right people!

@avant-garde aaaa that plushie looks really cute!!! it makes me so happy whenever I see cute stuff popping up anywhere :3
@Jynx what's even funny is that that friend of mine herself even has mental health issues (like she told me so) and even promised that she'll always accept me for the way I am and will never invalidate me for it and whatnot (after I told her about my concerns in relation to me struggling to find the right people that don't seem to like me and stuff). But at the end, she ended up abandoning me and mocked me whenever she approaches me... so I knew that she was never a real friend to begin with. We haven't talked to each other ever since she began to act completely sus to me.
I can't wait to see what I'm gonna be studying about on this new course that I'm about to be doing. I'm currently doing an undergraduate certificate of fine arts and I'm about to start this course either this week or next week. I've also picked up a design subject along with that undergraduate certificate since I would also like to explore designing too cause I was thinking of wanting to do some graphic design more for personal purposes rather than for career related purposes. But then I also thought hmm well I can as well become a freelance graphic designer in the future as well lol without needing to worry about needing to work for a particular company. Also I feel that it's more stressing working at an actual company than if you were to work for yourself.
And with Fine Arts, it's more of in relation to my mental health struggles and me being a highly sensitive person being the reason why I want to head into this field and pathway, because I realise that with this one, I can get to express myself through some forms of art and potentially pursue a career in relation to my passions, like an artist or an art therapist being the careers I have in mind.

ooo that sounds super interesting!! anything art sounds super fun, and also a great space to unleash your inner creativity. hope you have fun with this course @Blackcloud !! i did a few painting and drawing classes back in uni and even though i'm not super artistic, i did learn HEAPS and saw so much improvement. plus most of the people in my class were introverted... which is perfect for introverts like us hehe.
