Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hi @Shaz51

Hi @soul That was my 1st picnic (& bushwalk) in years.

Enjoyable, nice to have company for a picnic & walk.

She was shy, hard to make conversation.

She said she appreciated my being an introvert too - & my understanding needing "recharge time" (space), to recover from social situations.

Yet, despite that - she said that she does not want to meet again (in text message).

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Nice that you enjoyed getting out and about @Adge. So she wasn't the one for you. At least you had a lovely time. I hope you'll give it another go. Springtime is a wonderful season to enjoy the great outdoors. Go for a walk by yourself but also keep trying to forge new connections.

Perhaps the best thing is not to overshare until you get to know someone better. Take it slowly and easily.

Good for you for taking these chances.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Thanks @soul I appreciate your thoughts.

Yes, good to get out & go places that I wouldn't have gone otherwise.

Dating, & meeting new people gets me to do that.

Yes, I have several major physical illnesses (not visually apparent) - letting that slip out in conversation (1st time meeting), is maybe not a good idea.
