Healthy Boundaries

One of the most essential things in prioritizing our mental health is to set boundaries. We must set boundaries in our lives in both our personal and professional space. It is an essential skill for maintaining healthy relationships. Sometimes, setting boundaries can be viewed negatively, but it is still crucial to promote our emotional well-being. Healthy boundaries can promote self-respect and prevent burnout- by letting us say no without succumbing to excessive demands. Setting boundaries can also boost self-esteem and help us focus on our growth, which can positively impact our mental health.

Well said, @heera72 .

This is the biggest thing I was working on in my recent admission to PARC.

What else have you learnt from your experiences, in relation to setting healthy boundaries?

Re: Healthy Boundaries

Hi @heera72,

Thank you very much for sharing such important information — I think for those of us living with mental health challenges, it can be a real struggle to find the confidence to be assertive enough to prioritise our own wellbeing and create healthier boundaries. So it's good to have this reminder that we must not give up and that we're all in this together!

Re: Healthy Boundaries

Hi
I sometimes think I cop a harder time from certain people than others do and it must be because I'm weak. I'm learning that other people's poor treatment of me isn't my fault so I don't have to suffer the added indignity of self blame.
