Hi everyone,
On Tuesday 30th August 2022 at 7pm AEST, we’d like to invite you to join a discussion about rest and mental health. Rest is something all of us can benefit from- coming from a lived experience perspective, carer perspective, or both.
When we think of “rest,” we might just think of a single concept, like sleep – but there are many different types of rest we can need and benefit from having- for example, physical rest, emotional rest, sensory rest, etc. In this event, we will come together as a community to talk about the many types of rest we can need, in order to best support our wellbeing.
We will be referring to this article that proposes 7 different types of rest that everyone needs. Feel free to check it out in advance!
The start times across Australia are below:
WA: 5pm
NT & SA: 6:30pm
QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC & TAS: 7pm
Want to receive a reminder on the night? Hit the 'Support' button below and we will tag you 30 minutes before the event starts.
New to the forums or want to get involved in this discussion? Check out the How To Guide for Topic Tuesdays.
Hopefully we'll see you here on the night! 🌼

Hi Everyone,
TideisTurning here, one of the Peer Support Workers. The idea of there being different kinds of rest is still a relatively new concept for me, so I'm excited to learn more and hear everyone's experiences this evening! Curious if particular activities may serve to fulfill multiple kinds of rest too.
