Re: The Community Garden :)

Hi @frog. I love your name too! Here is a bit of our garden...with my pups. I'm having difficulty getting more than one photo to upload. Our garden if very leafy with lots of bromeliads and succulents. I don't actually have many photos of plants and I'm away from home at the moment so more later! received_2116403545053117.jpeg

Re: The Community Garden :)

Hi @frog thanks for reminding me that "winter always passes." I had the most terrible mood swing into a low at the beginning of winter. Thankfully my friends and family were able to help pull me out of it. I love seeing all the bulbs come up in the place we moved to 14 months ago, but winter certainly isn't my favourite month -bring on Spring. I agree that pets and gardens go hand in hand. I have some herbs growing in pots out the back there's rosemary, basil, mint, marjoram, chives, sage in the ground and parsley to go in a pot. I spend most of my time in the garden raking and sweeping up leaves, some of them I let rot down and use it as compost the next year. Happy gardening.

Re: The Community Garden :)

Hi @frog , you sound like u know a lot more about gardening than me. I enjoy pottering, and hav enjoyed doing my succulent gardens, but rly know very little about gardening, different types of plants etc. I hav a couple of herbs growing - oregano, thyme, chives (which arent doing so well) and basil (which grew  brilliantly in the hotter months but not doing so well now) and thats about it. Im in a rental so the rest of the plants r whatever was here when we moved in. They r all doing much better now than when we first moved in bcoz i do my best to look after them. Not sure that the previous tenants knew what water is! Lol.

Hope u are having a nice weekend @frog. Take care. ☺

Re: The Community Garden :)

Hi @Doglover

Chives is one I want to try. Haven't had luck with it in the past. Basil next spring/summer too.

I'm not at all an expert... have plent of failures! But it's nice to potter and have some wins as well.

Hope your Sunday is going ok Smiley Happy

Re: The Community Garden :)

I agree @frog , its nice to potter. I rly enjoy gardening when im doing it by choice, not obligation. Which is the grt thing about living on a smaller block with less garden. It only requires about 2 hours work every 3 months to keep it looking nice, anything else i do is by choice and thats when i rly enjoy it.
