Is Complex- BPD different from BPD?
From my understanding, BPD is already a complex mental illness and commonly occurs with other disorders so I am confused as to what this actually would mean as a diagnosis? I tried looking into it on google but all I could really find is the comparison of BPD and Complex PTSD and nothing on the complex type of BPD specifically. I am feeling so confused and hoping someone on here could help clarify this for me

Re: Is Complex- BPD different from BPD?
Hey @redhxtsymmer ,
Welcome to the forums.
I have Complex PTSD and BPD... I can't say I know the difference, but I know that there has been talk of re-naming BPD to Complex PTSD... so I guess it is the same? Is Complex BPD a mix of the names???
I never thought I had PTSD, but after digging deeper, I had to accept that my childhood experiences affected my way of coping and managing.
Any thoughts?

Re: Is Complex- BPD different from BPD?
i have both BPD and complex PTSD. i have heard they were considering a rename of BPD but i dont agree with that. i can actually tell many of the differences in my mental health conditions and the responses it brings.
i havent heard of complex BPD though, only as an overall condition.
the only difference between PTSD and C-PTSD is that CPTSD is just caused by multiple traumas but the signs/symptoms are generally the same.
BPD however does have a sub category of 'Quiet' BPD which is the type that i experience
