Looking after ourselves

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

I deleted old files off computer (work timesheets), decluttered computer a little bit.

I'm forever deleting spam emails from my inbox (up to 20 per day), plus old emails that are not current anymore.

If I didn't clear emails frequently, I would have 200 spam emails in my inbox in just a few weeks - as I did when I came out of hospital (after 16 days in).

I've thrown out some old brochures & council Tip vouchers (not current anymore).

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Thanks @Former-Member & @Shaz51 Appreciated.

Doesn't seem like much (just small).

If I don't congratulate myself on the small decluttering efforts, I lose heart - & never get to the bigger projects (stuff).

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

@Adge , @Former-Member doing small decluttering are even more important than the big ones xoxo

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

@Adge

It doesn't matter how small, every step is progress.

Small steps = doable, not taxing.

The secret is consistent effort.

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Been a good week on the home maintenance front. Plumber has been and fixed the problems identified on the building report we had done pre-house purchase and the new garden shed has been installed.

Re: Decluttering and home maintenance

Hot weather = need to stay indoors and out the heat

Stuck indoors = opportunity to declutter

Self care = not overdoing things.

Gentle encouragement to deal with just one thing today that is not too taxing such as

  • a small repair job
  • an item you no longer need
  • putting away an item
  • do something that will help you be a little more organised

Small steps here - over the last few days

  • found an item I had been wanting to send a friend, now packaged ready for posting,
  • containerised our USB sticks,
  • got the ice trays out, washed them, filled them and they are now in use.
  • Put bottles of water in the fridge.
  • Mr Darcy helped too by vacuuming the living areas
